The Nottingham Goose Fair! It was my first ever visit to a fair (pasar malams do not count) and it was just like what I had imagined it would be like: Food! Crowd! Rides! Toys! Geese! And lots of fun :D
We made a day trip out but not before we stop by The Grind Cafe (in Sheffield) for breakfast. I love their Belgian Waffles with Fruits, Honey and Yoghurt I had it for two consecutive days.
Look at that crowd. Still, it is far from how how it feels like to be in a train at peak hours in Singapore. It was pretty gloomy all morning but it held up for a couple of hours before it starts to really drizzle.
There were so many things to look at! Still, I found some time to people-watch. I do hope the third girl from the left in that few photos up was not forever scarred by fair rides. I hung around to watch the ride for a bit..and saw a few kids bailing before it starts. Also, still no sightings of any geese after about 30 minutes of exploring.
We walked further in and it seemed like the rides have now graduated to stuff more suitable for adults. Still no sightings of a single goose. This is starting to get worrying.
When I walked past this ride, I truly felt like the people in it were going to drop on me. It was crazy. There was an area where all the stalls have games for you to win toys but I don't have much photos of that because it had started to drizzle by then.
The annual Nottingham Goose Fair will return in 2017 from November 4th to 8th. The fair has more than 720 years of history. Admission is free and so is all the fun you are going to have whooo (minus the tragic disappointment that you will not get to see a single goose despite what the name suggests)!
